What is Film4? 
Film4 Productions is a British film production company owned by Channel Four Television Corporation. The company has been responsible for backing many films made in the United Kingdom 

Film4 Productions in comparison to BBC film productions is a commercial film production studio meaning that as it is owned and funded by a non-government company Channel4. Film4 works to fund independent but also mainstream films in the UK. Here are some details about Film4 Productions: 
  • It was founded on the 1st of November, 1998 and it was founded and funded by Channel4

Film4 Funding
  • Film4 does not operate with tariff prices and is privately funded by channel 4. 
  • With this budget film 4 plans to fund ten to twelve films a year.
  • After their films theatrical release they get added to channel4 to be watched on tv 
  • In 2017 Film4 was given a budget of £25 Million pounds.

As film4 is owned by channel4 it is where it gets most of its funding from for its films and movies. The company then makes the money back by releasing the films on their channel4 television platform to encourage customers to purchase the tv license.

BBC Films has helped to produce a lot of popular films that invoke thought from the viewers about our society. I Daniel Blake Trailer  How does the trailer fit into traditional conventions?  The trailer is around 2 minutes long which fits into the traditional conventional length of a film trailer. At the beginning of the trailer it features 3 slides of the production teams and film institutes that worked on the movie. The music that is used in the trailer fits in with the ‘Drama’ genre of the movie. The trailer also shares short clips that create a brief explanation of the plot and narrative of the movie.
